Message From The President

Greetings fellow Exchangites. I hope this message finds you all enjoying the close of the spring season and the arrival of a new summer season. In less than thirty days my year of service as the CT District President will be over. A new president, Bill Solder (Norwalk Club) will assume his duties on July 1st, and I wish him well for his upcoming year. I will continue with my commitment to the CT District in any way I can and assist the new president with his goals and plans for the district. It is my hope that you will all join me in that endeavor and make his year as our president a success.

There is still some unfinished business that needs to be attended to before my term comes to a close. We still need to fill a vacancy in the CT District secretary position. This is a very important and valuable office that needs to be filled. I am calling upon you all to assist the nominating committee in finding our new district secretary. I need someone to step up and meet this challenge and serve our district. Anyone who accepts this position will receive all the necessary training and guidance in fulfilling the duties of this office. If you or someone you know, has the ability or desire to step up, please contact myself or Annette Petruzzi as soon as possible. The district needs you now, more than ever.

We are also in need of Division Directors. This position is one of the most important jobs in the district, and I consider the most rewarding. The responsibilities and duties of this position are primarily leadership development and training for club officers and maintaining a line of communication with the clubs in your assigned division. One requirement for this position is, you must have served a term as a club officer. The benefits of this position include meeting fellow Exchangites from other clubs and sharing your experience as an officer in Exchange. Anyone interested in this position as Division Director please contact me or Annette Petruzzi as soon as possible.

In closing, I have enjoyed my year as your president. I may not have achieved all of my goals during the past year but on the positive side we have seen growth in new members, one new club and the potential of new clubs coming down the road. The installation of a new Freedom Shrine for the new Sandy Hook Elementary School will take place sometime in 2017, and I had the pleasure and opportunity of visiting Exchange Clubs throughout our state during my year as President. I want to thank everyone on the executive board, and district board for all your assistance and hard work, and those of you who stepped up as volunteers and lead committees that serve our district. You are all dedicated Exchangites and it my pleasure and honor to serve with you.

“Unity For Service”

Roger Picard

CT District President 2014 - 2015
