Exchange Club of Shelton to help the local Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck will be holding its annual Herbie Rollinson Memorial 5K Run-Walk at the Derby Greenway (Riverwalk) on Sunday, June 29.

Sponsored by the Exchange Club of Shelton, the 5K is a community event for people all over the Valley.

Registration is all online; go to www.BGC-LNV.org and click the 5K link at the top of the page.

For both children and adults

The event is open to children and adults. Start time is 9 a.m. for the 5K, and 9:30 am for walkers. Cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger

Closing date is June 6, or upon reaching 300 participants. Register by June 6 to be guaranteed a commemorative T-shirt.

The route will begin at the Caroline Street end of the Greenway. Parking will be at Factory Street and Hallock Court (behind St. Anthony’s Book & Gift Shop, across from Calvert Safe & Lock).

Proceeds help Boys & Girls Club programs

Proceeds from the Herbie Rollinson 5K will support programs at the Raymond P. Lavietes Clubhouse in Shelton and Joel E. Smilow Clubhouse in Ansonia, as well as satellite programs at Elizabeth Shelton and Perry Hill schools in Shelton and at the Seymour Recreation Center in Seymour.
