Connecticut District Exchange ClubMeeting of November 11, 2014
Manor Inn, Southington, CT
Call to Order by District President Roger Picard at 6:50 PM
Pledge- Bill Solder
Invocation- Mike DeNegris
Roll Call- 14 clubs were represented. 5 of 6 Officers and 5 of 6 Division Directors were present. A total of 44 people attended. See attached for a list of attendees and clubs represented. Cindy Harb, Region 12 Vice President, and Bob Harb, Past National President, were also in attendance.
District Secretary’s Report- A motion was made, seconded and approved to waive the readings of the minutes of the August 12 meeting. The minutes of August 12 were accepted. Secretary will distribute the meeting minutes of the June 8 meeting by email and arrange to have them posted on the District website.
District Treasurer’s Report- the attached profit and loss report for year ended June 30, 2015, through November 11, 2014, was distributed. A motion was made, seconded and approved to accept the Treasurer’s report. An Accounts Receivable Aging Report showing amounts owed by the various clubs was reviewed.
Division Directors’ Reports- The reports were given to President Roger Picard. Division Directors did not give individual oral reports. Report for Division III is attached.
- District Convention – Chair Mike De Negris presented the proposals received from 4 resorts. A period of discussion ensued, during which several attendees expressed a desire to have the convention closer to or in Connecticut. After several failed motions, the following motion was made, seconded and passed (8 yes, 1 no, 1 abstention): That the bid submitted by The Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis for years 2015-2017 be accepted by the Board.
- Fundraising –
- CT District raffle - President Roger Picard described the CT raffle and asked that each club sell tickets. The major beneficiary of the proceeds of this raffle will be a Freedom Shrine at the new Sandy Hook Elementary School.
- Division I Director Joe Dudek is working on a fundraiser involving the hockey game in Bridgeport on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Profits to go to the CT District General Fund.
- Salute to Connecticut’s Bravest – Chairwoman Annette Petruzzi reported that the event was a success with close to 600 in attendance.
