2016 has become the year of “those damn millenials.”

We don’t understand our student loans, we don’t understand what “socialism” means, and apparently we’re even the leading cause of potholes. This article alone links out to more than half a dozen think pieces disparaging an entire generation of people.

Point is, public opinion has not been kind to us, and all we’re trying to do is start our lives, meet some cool people, build ourselves into something we can be proud of, and make a difference along the way.

Well, our prayers have been answered.

While the previous generations may never quit their crazy tirades against “those darned youngins with their Snaptweets and Facephones,” the Connecticut Exchange Clubs get it.

They get that we want to become the leaders of our communities.

They get that we want to make friends and meet new people who are our age and share our goals.

They get that we want to network and build businesses that make the world a better place.

They get that we want to have fun and not take ourselves so seriously all the time.

They get that we want to help others and give back to the world around us.

And, most of all, they get that we want a place that allows us to achieve all of those things and all the other goals we might have.

Since they understand all of that, they decided to create that place. By organizing at a local, statewide, and national level, Exchange Clubs create a unique home for your business life, social life, and community life. A place you can network with colleagues, make new friends, and do something positive. A place that welcomes anyone with a goal and passion for reaching that goal.

Perhaps the best part is that Connecticut’s Exchange Clubs are still growing, and they’re looking for new members. They want people like you to be involved as they create a culture of enrichment and build Connecticut Exchange Clubs into something that can young professionals across the state reach their utmost potential.

So as the “Those Damn Millenials” headlines rain from the heavens, take a moment to remember there is a place in the world that won’t define us by those column inches. A place that recognizes us as a generation that wants to meet new people, build our businesses and our communities, and to make a difference. A place called the Connecticut Exchange Clubs.
